Happy Retirement...

Our first August challenge is to create a retirement card.  When I was browsing through all the great stamps at Serendipity Stamps, when I came across this Screen Door stamp (oo1k).  It spoke to me of the calm and serenity that we are all looking forward to after we retire.  I can imagine myself sitting on this front porch with the cool breeze blowing.

I colored the image with copics and then cut it with my die cuts.  I used a big one and one smaller to create a frame on the outside of the card, and have the rest of the image on the inside of the card.  I love the 3D feel that it gives to the card.  Then for some extra oomph I added brads and wrapped twine around them.

These are the copic colors that I used to achieve my sunny front porch look.

Now on to the creation of the other amazing team members:

Amy this is a fantastic card - what a blissful scene you created with that image!! Lovely colours and i agree, the frame gives a wonderful 3D feel. I'd like to be there now as its a long time until retirement for me!! ;)

Amy - love the stamp you selected - those chairs just look like they are waiting for someone to sit down in them! Love the shading on the screen door!

Can't think of any better thing to do when I retire but to sit on the front porch in a scene as cute as you created. Well, probably making cards is a close runner-up, but your card is so pretty today. Love the gorgeous coloring on it.

What a cute scene! Love your window on the front too! Looks like that took some planning!
