Instant home decor. Since we'd moved I'd find myself staring at the blank space above the entertainment center. Then just the other day it hit me, animal silhouettes. I had the means to cut them with my Cricut Expression, but what material to use. Then at Home Depot I found black leather textured contact paper... PERFECT. Yesterday I set about cutting out the animal shapes, and I'm pretty pleased with how it looks and how it fits in with my safari themed living room.

Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
Okay, I found the exact same contact paper at home depot the other day and started wondering if I could use it in the cricut. I'm happy to know that I can...but I'm hoping you can give a little more information.
So far, my web searching has turned up a video and instructions at e-How, both say to put the contact paper upside down on the cutting mat, but when you cut vinyl you put the vinyl side up...so I'm wondering how you did yours. Face up, or face down (with the paper facing up). Please let me know, and if you remember what settings you used, that would be helpful, too. Thanks!
