Serendipty Challenge for September...

Here is my September project for Serendipity Stamps! It's a Halloween Candy holder, but it would be great for gift certificates or money too!

Mine is holding some yummy pop rocks a favorite with my 8 year old.
The cute message on the inside cover also a lovely Serendipity Stamp!

Supplies:
Serendipity stamps: Costume Kids 1172G
Happy Trick or Treating 1173D
Black Cardstock
A double sided pattern paper (I used a bat pattern from Reminisce Designs it's yellow on both sides but one side also has bats)
Fiskars paper edgers Bat Wings
Yellow Sheer Ribbon Close To My Heart
Versa Mark Ink
Black Embossing Powder
Heat tool
Gold Pen
Paper Trimer with a scoring blade (or bone folder, or score pal)
Hole punch
For this project the cover dimensions and such will all depend on the size of paper you started with!
In the spirit of not reinventing the wheel I got the directions for folding the candy pockets here: http://www.diyplanner.com/node/1831
Once you have your inside pocket made... cut a piece of black cardstock so that it will be sligthly bigger. Center the pocket in the cover and punch two holes in the spine to thread the ribbon through. Stamp the kids image on the yellow side of the pattern paper, and emboss with black powder. Trim the image with the bat wing scissors and adhere to the front of the book. Use the gold pen to doodle around the edges.
For the inside cover stamp the trick or treating on the yellow side of paper and emboss with black powder. Trim strip to fit inside cover along middle. Trim two small strips with bat wings on one long side.. Adhere to top and bottom inside cover. Doodle with gold pen.
Put yellow ribbon through holes and tie in bow on outside of cover. Enjoy!
